Random Thought Of The Day 11-11-08
I’m no fan of George W. Bush, but the people who insist that he is the worst president in recent history clearly don’t remember Jimmy Carter.

Absolutely! I bet Bush and his wife will also show more class and respect to the incoming president and his staff than they received when they took office.
Hey, at least Carter was elected, and not appointed to office by judicial fiat. :)
It’s also tough to make a comparison between Carter’s inept leadership and 43’s willingness to shred the Constitution, lie to the UN, torture POWs, and start pre-emptive wars.
I’ll give you that both guys leave something to be desired as Chief Execs, but the worst you can say about Carter is that he was in over his head – there’s scant evidence that he ever used his office to line his pockets or benefit his associates. Bush on the other hand, was inept AND corrupt. There’s no Carter equivalents to Halliburton, Abu-Garaib, Guantanamo Bay, the torture of “enemy combatants” the Attorney General scandals, etc.
Plus, I doubt Bush will have anything like the Camp David Accords to crow about 20 years from now.
I will make one concession – both guys are sterling examples of what you get when you elect jesus-freaks to office.
