Revisiting A Few Golden Oldies

Posted by Chris Berry on August 19, 2008 in Writing and Blogging

I spent a couple of hours on blog housekeeping yesterday and had a chance to go back and read several of my older posts. One of the biggest problems with the reverse chronological arrangement of the typical blog is that a lot of good stuff tends to get buried in the archives. Granted, the majority of the entries on any blog lose relevance with the passage of time, but along with the out of date stuff there just might be a few timeless classics. Unless you’ve followed a blog since it’s inception, there’s a good chance that you haven’t read the author’s best work.

I’ve tried to avoid this problem by presenting a menu of some of my favorite posts, but I have not done a good job of keeping it up to date. I finally got around to revising the list this morning, and I’ve broken it down into posts on national and local issues. These are not necessarily the posts that have attracted the largest number of readers, but they are the ones that best reflect my slightly unconventional view of the world. If you’re a relatively new reader, I would love to know what you think of some of these golden oldies.
